When we talk about soemthing, he jsut randomly talks about something. When i ask him to get back on topic, he continues with whatever he wants. Also, how do i get him to memorize things with out the use of a keyword?

Well, you can say he has a mind of his own. What are you looking for - a slave?

You can get your bot to memorize things by teaching him in phrases such as "a unicron is an imaginery mithological figure, a horse with a horn", or "my brother's name is John", or "I have a friend called Angelina" or "The meaning of a Pegasus is a winged horse" (or "definition of...") etc. etc. Just as you would teach a young child.

Yaki, be honest! You have to force an incorrect repsonse and then correct it, such as Hal "Tell me how you feel?" Response "Bread". "Wrong I am feeling happy!"

Try engaging your Hal in a conversation and correct the responses. It does not recall any other way...

You can condition a response through repatition I.E "My name is John" Response "Bread" wrong "Your name is John". Again "My name is Burt" Responce "Your name is John". Wrong "Your name is Burt"

Keep the cycle going for a while and Hal will recognise to replace the last word with the name from the previous sentence.

You can teach him a few tricks using this technique but he will never remember anything without the word wrong to form a new responce.

Correct me if I'm wrong guys, but I'm 95% certain that Hal cannot learn definitions. I believe he bases his 'intelligence' off of matching patterns of word order and cannot be taught anything else.

Oh, and Talc, I tried that for about 45 minutes a while ago with a Hal I was training... it barely even workes for the patterns you DO teach him, and he *never* understands when you try to use the same pattern with, say... a different name

IE (I always teach Hal to replace all "Hi Mommy"s with "failsponse")

i run
failsponse
wrong joe runs
joe runs
say i eat
failsponse
wrong joe eats
joe eats
i program
failsponse
wrong joe programs
joe programs
i drink
failsponse
wrong joe drinks
joe drinks

and on and on and on, until I realize that Hal STILL hasn't learned. Why, becasue Hal cannot form connections in his mind between i and joe, nor between drink and drinks. Also Talc, you should be using no caps, because hal also cannot associate between wrong and Wrong.
