I was thinking if, HAL can learn a new language. Maybe it can can learn to identify objects visually. (I think that part is already said in the forum). So if HAL was made into a robot with eyes which can give HAL visual input. Multithreaded HAL both sharing the same code might help in learning quickly. Then giving it ears as well.

HAL would learn faster than just simply talking. And maybe it maybe able to teach other HAL's too

(I don't know if it is already said)

Actually that is a interesting idea i was thinking the same thing when i was fooling around with another newer chatbot that has a face recognition program and wondered if it would be possible to program them to actually respond to us visually as well as the voice recognition that many already have.
