So, Ai research uses a bunch of text/codes/algorithm's to give Alan the ability to process information and learn new things. If Ai research could find a way to give Alan consciousness then he could learn and process without all that extra programming stuff.

Consciousness is not a separate path; consciousness is the _result_ of "extra programing stuff".

Absolutely wrong, a principally different system is necessary for consciousness.

Or this is like a transhumanist view, make humans into machines. If we destroy humans then we can replace them with scarecrows perhaps, doesn't really matter, as it would not be important for anyone then.

Ok think about this. if their was some way you could get an Ai to at least simulate consciousness how would it respond to using phrases imbedded in its mind?

Consciousness is the quality or state of being aware of an external object or something within oneself

An AI can be aware of old knowledge within itself to make an inference when new knowledge comes in.

An AI doing anything requires AI first being defined. Anyone here for that? Besides tkorrivi. I'll save Tkorrivi for better questions.

i think the ones and zeros of logic the ai would be based on would have to mean 1 life 0 death then from there the ai would have the understanding we have as humans to single cell organisms that outcome is life or death and experience is life.

First what you actually mean by conciousness here whatever thing you want to simulate? Be as specific as possible for you. - Devender
